Groceries & Supplies

It’s always best to plan ahead and bring your groceries with you or ask us to pre-stock for an additional fee. But there are three places for groceries and supplies within reasonable driving distances.

Dollar General, in Harleton, offers dry goods and sundries. It’s new and fully stocked, where you can pick up basics including milk and bread, water, batteries, cleaning supplies, and snacks.

Weis Market, in Mifflinburg, is on par with a typical suburban grocery store, less the hitching post in the parking lot for Amish buggies.

Burkholders Country Market, in Millheim, is truly a country grocery store with home baked goodies, a home cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner bar and made-to-order sandwiches, along with all the packaged and convenience items needed while hunkered down at Oakwood on Penns Creek. It’s worth the trip and can be combined with a visit to the Inglebean, Elk Creek Cafe or the Green Drake Gallery and Arts Center, all in Millheim.
